My twin and I are survivors of many things and no matter what we were going through during our childhoods, a catchy tune always altered out moods and our spirits.
When our production team was in Fort Worth filming the pilot for The Pawning Planners, I had two cameras with audio in my SUV and Cindy Daniel would join me in “sing out’s” to our favorite 70’s or 80’s songs when they came on my stereo. My CD player stopped working last year and I miss the no commercials of Sirius but, I work with what we have!
We had a walkie talkie in my SUV and had to turn off the radio on occasion so we really missed our fun and funky favorite music stations. But when we were allowed to turn the radio back on- you can bet we were “rocking out” singing and dancing our way on over to the next location for filming.
The thing about music is perhaps odd or even strange to our production company but my sister and I have been singing and dancing for as long as I can remember and one day, hope to take line dancing class because it looks like a lot of fun to us.
Our favorite bands are Foghat, Boston, Van Halen (the original band), Rush, Cher, The a Village People, Queen, Led Zepplin, Donna Summer, Marc Cohn, BeeGees, Elton John, Barry White, Rod Stewart, Van Morrison, The Cars, The Baby’s, John Mellencamp, Melissa Etheridge, Loverboy, Elvis Presley, Cyndi Lauper, Johnny Cash, Jim Croce, Styx, Kansas, Lady Gaga, Beastie Boys, Run DMC, Meatloaf, Spandou Ballet, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, Hall & Oates, The Eagles, Leonard Skynard, The Doobie Brothers, ELO, Steve Miller Band, ABBA, Journey, Genisis, The Jackson Brothers, Scorpions, Whitesnake, Fleetwood Mac, Rick Springfield, Bon Jovi, Guns N Roses, Duran Duran, Twisted Sister, Kiss, Blondie, Devo, Quiet Riot, The Go Gos, and more.
The Little Pawners know all of the words to all of our favorite songs and often jump right into a sing out with us.
You see by laughing and having fun with each other we successfully overcame bad marriages, bumps and obstacles when we felt like crying- we “pumped up the volume” and soon found ourselves laughing and singing and looking forward to our futures.
Although this may sound strange to some folks, please forgive us if we sing off key because honey, we are singing with passion, perverance and hope!
We are The Pawning Planners and if out SUV’s pull into your event singing and smiling you can rest assured that we haven’t been drinking- quite the opposite my friend- we are happy and joyous that we’ve made it this far for we are the wedding warriors!
